PEQUIVEN: Modernization of Rectifiers and Battery Bank for the Chlor-Alkali Plant

2021. Venezuela

Proyelec carried out the modernization of the uninterruptible power supply system for the transfo-rectifiers at the Chlor-Soda Plant, located in the Ana María Campos Petrochemical Complex. The project focused on ensuring the electrical stability of the critical RT-601C, RT-602C, RT-603C, and RT-604C equipment through the implementation of high-efficiency rectification and energy storage solutions.

Technical Decommissioning: Safe de-installation and removal of existing power equipment and battery banks on-site.

Equipment Supply and Logistics: Provision and specialized transport of four (4) rectification units of 240 Vac / 25 A.

VRLA Storage Systems: Installation of 12V / 75 AH battery banks with valve-regulated lead-acid technology, guaranteeing maintenance-free backup and high reliability.

Installation and Configuration: Electromechanical assembly and adjustment of connections for the integration of the new systems into the plant network.

Commissioning and Load Testing: Operational validation of the system to certify immediate response to fluctuations in the main supply.

The technical intervention at the Chlor-Soda Plant ensures impeccable energy management, where precise rectification and the robustness of the VRLA battery banks minimize the risk of unscheduled downtime.
