SUPERMETANOL: Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Maintenance

2024. Venezuela

The project consisted of specialized technical intervention for six (6) Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) belonging to the cooling system of the Supermetanol, C.A. plant, located in the José Antonio Anzoátegui Complex.

Proyelec’s execution focused on guaranteeing the operational reliability of these critical assets, ensuring precise control of the speed and energy consumption of the plant’s cooling system.

The technical deployment was structured under the following intervention stages:

Diagnosis and Replacement Engineering: Performance of functional tests and exhaustive identification of electronic and mechanical components subject to replacement to ensure equipment integrity.

Specialized Preventive Maintenance: General review of surfaces and structural elements of the drives to detect possible failure points or wear.

Cleaning and Technical Optimization: Execution of deep cleaning on moving parts and internal circuits, removing residues that could compromise thermal dissipation and equipment performance.

Control Tests and Commissioning: Final verification of operational parameters and startup protocols under load, guaranteeing the correct integration of the VFDs into the cooling system.

Through the application of high-precision maintenance protocols and the use of specialized tools, Proyelec succeeded in optimizing the performance of the variable frequency drives in the Supermetanol electrical substation. This service reaffirms the company’s ability to deliver high-value technical solutions in large-scale industrial complexes, contributing directly to the efficiency of its clients’ production processes.
