PEQUIVEN: Modernization Project for the 480V Motor Control Center at the Olefins I Plant

2022. Venezuela

A project of high technical complexity oriented towards the update and reinforcement of the 480V power control systems at the Olefins I plant. The intervention focused on the modernization of the Motor Control Centers (MCC), ensuring operational continuity and advanced protection of the plant’s critical assets through the integration of cutting-edge technologies.

Replacement Engineering: Technical disassembly of existing equipment and cell adaptation for new technology.

Supply and Installation of Withdrawable Drawers: Provision of fifty-three (53) functional units (NEMA 1 to NEMA 5), equipped with molded case circuit breakers and motor starters.

Intelligent Protection and Control: Advanced configuration of Schneider Electric TeSys relays for the thermal and electrical management of industrial motors.

High-End Components: Supply of thermomagnetic circuit breakers of various capacities and high-visibility LED signaling systems.

Quality Assurance Protocols: Exhaustive execution of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning, and official system startup.

Proyelec provided its detailed engineering capacity to execute a flawless technological transition in a highly demanding industrial environment. Specialization in the configuration of Schneider Electric protection devices allowed the Olefins I plant to have a robust, efficient control system aligned with international safety standards.
